Maia Bang foi aluna e assistente do renomado professor Leopold Auer.
Ela criou um método para violino que combina a técnica russa com melodias acessíveis, ensinando desde os rudimentos básicos, como afinação e postura, até o domínio avançado do arco. O método foi divido em 7 volumes e publicado pela primeira vez entre os anos de 1919 e 1922 , foi traduzido pra várias línguas, sendo amplamente adotado no mundo inteiro.

O Método de Violino Maia Bang oferece métodos essenciais para estudantes de violino, incluindo escalas, estudos, canções, exercícios de arco, etc. Cada lição possui um breve texto em inglês e espanhol explicando como praticar.
A partitura do professor, abaixo da partitura do aluno, também é fornecida para treinamento harmônico.
